I met with my friend Ben last night so I could meet with "the informant" to get some information on the whereabouts of my missing patio table. We geared up for detecting (meaning we put our trench coats on), then I was blindfolded, driven to an unknown location, and led by hand to the middle of...somewhere. While I waited, Ben transformed into Tony, the owner of Tony's Italian Restaurant (meaning Ben took off his trench coat and started speaking in an Italian accent). Tony led me to a bridge going across the Poudre River where we found...MY TABLE! As well as wine, homecooked Italian food, and a candle that had been pre-lit by someone (we aren't sure - hobo?).
So yes, this mystery had been an elaborate set-up for a lovely date. To top it all off, Ben/Tony pulled out his ukulele and sang me Bella Notte (from Lady and the Tramp), so I can cross off #81 on my list.
Collective "awwwww," anyone? Cause me too.
