For a late birthday present, my bfffff Lizzie gave me this gift:

It's a journal that's been collaged with stuff she found in my trash can (oh, the benefits of living with your friends). Mildly creepy, but TOTALLY awesome gift. It's going to be our quote book, as we're endlessly sayi…

So at my internship last semester, I worked a lot with veteran students - some hardcore guys that served their time in the military and came back to CSU to get their degrees. They planned a summer trip to go whitewater rafting, so we went last Saturday and it was suh-weet! We've been getting so much rain in Colorado lately that the river was flowing crazy high - by the time we got done, it had risen to the point that they shut it down for commercial tours. Our guide was telling us that it was ab…

Ruh-roh. I'm not entirely sure why I added this goal in the beginning, but it's there so I've got to get it done eventually. This week offered a good opportunity, as I have no money and no plans to head out of town, so today is the start date of a week-long saga into the world of sodium-packed noodles. Breakfast and lunch have been pretty painless - I'll update later on in the week, though. Wish me luck and low blood pressure!
6-9 - Day 3
Update:
I was obviously out of my mind yesterday and for…

I met with my friend Ben last night so I could meet with "the informant" to get some information on the whereabouts of my missing patio table. We geared up for detecting (meaning we put our trench coats on), then I was blindfolded, driven to an unknown location, and led by hand to the middle of...somewhere. While I waited, Ben transformed into Tony, the owner of Tony's Italian Restaurant (meaning Ben took off his trench coat and started speaking in an Italian accent). Tony led me to a bridge goi…

So, I returned home from a road trip on Tuesday night, only to find this note on my bed:

I called a friend, got together my detective gear (a trench coat, a magic 8 ball, a sewing kit, and a headlamp) and did some investigating. We checked the crime scene for clues and found nothin…

Just an update - this little lady graduated from Colorado State University yesterday, with a Bachelor of Arts in Social Work. Pretty flippin' sweet. I'm finallllly able to cross off Nathan's #28 - Earn a College Degree. For my graduation presents, I got money to go towards a motorcycle (#189, woo-woo!), a book on how to make kites (#154), a sewing machine (#12 - Design an Outfit and #140 Sew an entire outfit), and a ridiculous amount of love and praise.
It's a pretty crazy transitional point in…

So, for my birthday, I asked for people to help me cross things off my list and got SO much support. It's wonderfully amazing how people respond when you ask them for help with something that's important to you.
Anyway, #103 "tell someone off" and #167 "receive a message in a bottle" were completed on or around my birthday! I've also gotten offers from friends with connections to forklifts, recording software, amazing painting skills, etc. This summer is going to be faaaaantastic.

So, I have actually completed a few of the goals on my list but was waiting until I got around to taking pictures to post a blog about it. I'm fantastic at procrastinating so I figured I'd at least get the blog done and pictures will be soon to follow!
So, #43 - Frolic Through a Meadow
This sounds like a simple one, but it took me awhile to complete because it had to be the RIGHT meadow. I wasn't just going to skip through a ditch somewhere - I wanted mountain scenery, wildflowers, me in a whit…

Wahoooozles! So, after a bizarre and overwhelming week of life crises and finals, I've finally got some updates on goals - and one completed! One of my most favorite places in Fort Collins (perhaps it's slid into #1 recently) is the
Lyric Cinema Cafe. It's our local independent movie theater that serves some delicious munchies and features really badass employees. After showing Ben (one of the most delightful and appropriate chaps in existence) my lis…

I swear, I will never type in all caps again. Hurrah, my first blog post!
So, after meeting the BL boys (sounds like a lame hiphop group) this weekend, I'm on a complete enthusiasm spree with my list. I'd almost consider it a negative, considering how much other crap I ought to be focusing on, but that's kind of the point: it's crap. Heh. Obviously, I need to continue fulfilling my day-to-day obligations, but I'm not going to try and contain my excitement for list-fulfillment for the sake of ho…
