Self Pity

Self Pity I never saw a wild thing sorry for itself. A small bird will drop frozen dead from a bough without ever having felt sorry for itself. DH Lawrence This is my all time favorite poem. Simple yet powerful. I love how it is so short and concise, yet it is able to touch on a variety of themes; regret, self worth, fear, dignity, morality...
