But you have to learn all kinds of algorithms and stuff, it's hard and time consuming. I'm proud I did it though! I also learned how to make paper cranes and made about 8... 8 down, 992 left to go! Currently working on #27, #36, #42, and #43. I technically have a pen pal from another country, but it's through email. I don't really think it counts…

When I lived in Dori, enjoying the present moment was effortless. Dori is a small town in the north of Burkina Faso, in the Sahel region - i.e. in the middle of the desert. There's no supermarket, no mall, we didn't have a television, nor a washing machine... the one cinema in a radius of 500 km re-opened while we were there, and has since closed down again. W…

It's not the first time I've heard of people making a list of things to do before they X, Y, or Z (my list in progress is intended to be finished by the time I turn 25..or 2 and a half years). I've always thought of these lists as wishful thinking lists, rather than real aspirations to be taken seriously. After seeing previews for the Buried Life show and reading a book called
The Next Thing on My List by Jill Smolinski, I decided that it was time to finally make myself a list and stop at…

Help me cross one out:
www.food-project.org!
Last year I went on a 6-month internship to Burkina Faso for the UN World Food Programme. (Funny, we also named the WFP car there - Jim Marley. And the camera Steve, and the fridge Stupid. It was really loud, and the door kept falling off.. at least we had one though, useful in the middle of the Sahel desert!) There I started making a list too, then I kind of forgot about it. Now I've been re-inspired and am…

i don't know what i was looking for.
maybe answers. probably answers. for myself, and for everyone esle. for every girl who thinks they all leave, and for the guys who do. But mostly for myself. I wanted to know what every esle had been asking me since the word that my one year anniversary got out. What's forever? What does it mean to be forever? what does it feel like?
To tell the truth
i don't feel any different. I don't have a bubbly butterfly-e feeling in the pit of my stomach, and the world…

In May of 2009 my dream of going to Hawaii & riding on a plane came true. My boyfriend at the time was stationed in Hawaii and surprized me with tickets to come visit him for a week. Thus far this is probably the greatest thing someone has ever done for me. I took my first plane ride ALONE from my home town in South Carolina, to Chicago, to L.A, and then to Honolulu. Up untill this point the furthest north I had ever been was Tennesse and I had never seen the Pacific Ocean. Just visiting all…
