haha... about 4.5 years ago i got free tickets to see Yellowcard, not my favorite but i went anyways cause it was free. well this little known band was opening for them and when we got to the venue the opening band had just pulled up and were unloading their equipment (themselves... no roadies). well the lead singer tripped and faceplanted getting out of the van, we walked over and asked if he needed help and if he was ok. well to make a long story short we struck up a conversation with the rest of the band and ended up helping them carry their crap backstage. we hung out backstage with them before the show and then sat up in VIP when Yellowcard came on. afterwards we ended up helping the guys take their stuff back to their van and went out and partied with them. so you ask, who was this no name band... fall out boy. haha. who are now like so huge! when i told people i had partied with the band they were like SWEET, you got to meet Yelloward? which we did hang out and party a little with them, but we actually bacame friends with FOB. everytime they came to town after that pete would call us up and tell us to come down and hang out. it was seriously the best night i have ever had!!

the coolest thing I ever accidentally did.

My friend and I went to France in June for a wedding. After the wedding (and a week in the Loire Valley), we headed south to the coast of the Mediterannean. We'd thought it might be fun to spend a day in Monaco, so we planned to splitting the 4th of July between Montecarlo and Nice. It wasn't until we were headed back into France from Barcelona that I noticed the front page of a Frenchman's newspaper: Tour de France 2009 Grand Départ Monaco 4 Juillet.

I had known that the Tour started on the 4t… Continue

I Was Here - by Lady Antebellum

You will notice me
I’ll be leaving my mark like initials carved in an old oak tree
You wait and see
Maybe I’ll write like Twain wrote
Maybe I’ll paint like Van Gogh
Cure the common cold
I don’t know but I’m ready start cuz I know in my heart

I wanna do something that matters
Say something different
Something that sets the whole world on its ear
I wanna do something better with the time I’ve been given
And I wanna try to touch a few hearts in this life
Leave nothing less than something that says… Continue

hither, thither and yon

I'm going to Europe for the first time in August. I have 25 days, and I'm starting in Switzerland and then heading west by rail. I'm spending a few days in France, Belgium, Holland and London, but other than that my plans are not concrete. Any suggestions on things to do, or places that I should not miss?

second chances

I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived.
-Henry David Thoreau

My life has been pretty awesome. I've been blessed with a wonderful family who encouraged me in (almost) everything I've tried, along with lots of other cool people and loads of fun opportunities. I've done quite a bit in my life... met a lot of people, been… Continue
