Summer 2009

Hello all! I was just noticing that a lot of people have similar goals. I was thinking that we could get something organized together, like a road trip next summer or a group trip somewhere. We should probably plan WAY ahead, though. If anyone has any input, lets all talk about it here! We could even get the guys to help us out, but I think so much can happen if we all work on getting things done together!

I live in London UK though and being a student money isn't so good!

1: Visit USA is on my list and this would just be the best way to do it!

Adeeb you rock... would love to have someone teach me to board! But seriously, start looking for airfair specials, I swear the 1st and only time I made it to London, My sis and I found seats on Virgin Air for just over $400 and you have like 6 months to save up.
Would be great if you could make it, I am getting some fantastic Ideas. I would love to Start in Seattle, I am hoping to Visit my Godfather in Alaska, then drive down, and maybe head down the coast start picking people up, and Have who ever couldn't be picked up (and can fly) fly into LAX. Then Head to Route 66 from LA, I found a site that has a Reservation with tours that take you to a set of remote Waterfalls in Arizona desert. They look amazing. They are the kind you can watch, swim around in, bathe in, and some even have deep enough areas you CAN DIVE IN! SWEET! Ahem, That's on my list in case you didn't know . Hee Hee

So, how is the planning going for our trip?? The group has been pretty quiet for a while...what is up?? Is the trip still a go?? We need to start putting things down in stone...we have just over six months to pull this off!! We need to get things rolling...any ideas Cyndi??

well, a few things have happened in my life, so im not going to be able to make this one. i have a few decisions i need to sit and think about not to mention save my money for. sorry guys but i wish you the best of luck with planning. ill still keep reading this and add my input if you would like, if i see something i could help out with or something.

I'm still in, guys. I've been checking some potential sponsors out. No definite answers yet because the idea's too vague for them to consider when I presented our case. So, we really need to start working on this with real confirmations and such.

Hillary, I'm sorry you can't make this one. How about we add South Carolina to our agenda and visit you there?

omg! i would love that! the only problem is, im not sure ill be here. see, guys, im enlisting into the navy and im not sure if im going to be home for too much longer. it seems that i have three choices, only two are definate. one: i can sign now, and leave by feb...two: i can go to another semester of school and go to boot camp in august, that would allow me to finish my term at my job...or three: i dont go to school and i finish my job and then go in august. the first two are the more probable ones. ill know by the end of december tho.

but if i am still here, i would love for you guys to come and visit. charleston is so beautiful and you would love it!

Well Hillary if you do go in the Navy, hold off for more school, it makes you more valuable to the Navy... and as someone with several freinds who have experience, be very wary talking to recruiters, not all of them... but some can be sneaky or even deceptive, but only because they REALLY want you. make sure you don't let them give you a hard time for waiting. They know their job and the need people, especially smart women, I had a brother in law who held off getting married because they said he couldn't before boot camp, it was only because they would have had to pay him more, and another girl friend they told couldn't wait because she wanted to finish school, they would have had to pay her a higher signing bonus. So make sure you know all your options, if you get a good recruiter, they will be telling you how to get paid more, not giving you a hard time, so you will know the difference if you got a good one. sorry this is late but I wanted to say something in case it helps OK?

Alright so we need to get serious about this. We need to get a list of everyone that is coming and a deadline for them to confirm that they will come.

Need contact info
Where we will meet up (someone said earlier about calforina)
Where we will go (someone said about from calforina to chicago)
How long it will be
What supplies we need to bring
If we can get any sponors
The transportation...to where we will meet and also when we are in the group

so I think we need everyones help with this and there should be a deadline by when we should have everything planned
