Summer 2009

Hello all! I was just noticing that a lot of people have similar goals. I was thinking that we could get something organized together, like a road trip next summer or a group trip somewhere. We should probably plan WAY ahead, though. If anyone has any input, lets all talk about it here! We could even get the guys to help us out, but I think so much can happen if we all work on getting things done together!

true. but also didnt someone say that it would be $10,000 for a month to rent an RV? a cheap hotel room would be what? prob a little over $120 a night? if we do that we are saving a little under $200 a night. b/c if we rent an RV and split the $10,000 up for 31 days (thats considering we are going in july of next year) then it would cost around $322.58 a day. but thats just if we dont get a deal on the RV. right?

There is another option... travel in vans or cars and sleep in tents. Most public campgrounds (KOA, for example) have bathrooms and showers available, and the price per head is usually pretty reasonable. My family did a 9000-mile trip this way last year.

I do have a 15 pasenger van I was planning on selling... but if we have 15 people, that is reall close space for that long. I mean zero personal space for a month, and if we do go for a whole month (sorry to be blunt here guys) you know all of us women are going to hit that time of the month. can you imagine being cramped in a vehicle during that time? I'm not totally against it. I just know that if we split up in different vehicles we lose part of the group experience. Being cramped is dificult even with your best friend. It is an option but if we can find deals and are able to get something to make it more fun we shuold deffinately try, right :o)

i like this idea. i mean, we would kind of all be together. you know those big ol' tents where you can fit like...7 people? we could have girls tents and boys tents. i dunno. it sounds like fun, and i mean, i saw atleast one other person (other than myself) who wants to go camping. i havent been in a long time. it would probably be cheaper than a hotel or a R.V. and we could still stay in contact with walki-talkies and stuff. that would be fun. haha! or cell phones.

i mean with cars and vans, we could be a little convoy!

Oh by the way you have to think about how many people we have... one hotel will allow at most 5 people for 1 room so if we have 15 people that's 3 rooms per night, and if you say 120 ( whish is probably high... that $360 per night.

glad someone else is pumped! haha! okay, so what goals do you think you can get done during this road trip? which ones are important to you? everyone should answer this.

Hey dave how about a ride... you still got the bus? JK this really incredible that you guys want to be a part of this with us!
I have my goal of visiting all 50 states, so I could knock off a couple more of these
It also depends what others bring to the group that could help us with our goals, like does anybody know how to juggle or skate board that can tech me? is there anything I know that I can teach others... maybe not but we coulld help each other

Also, really quick, I think June is the best time to start... August can get really nasty Humid in a lot of states. When is everbodies (who is in classes,) last day for that summer??

im not sure at the moment. but usually in between may 25th-june 5th. so i dont know. i will let you know as soon as possible! Becca and I were talking (she is on here too) and she got really excited about the whole camping thing. is everyone ok with that? I have wanted to go for a long time now! but if there is a problem with it im sure we can find something else to do for that kind of stuff. Cyndi, i agree with the june thing. it would be a little cooler.

I haven't yet discussed this with my parents (they are very busy with their businesses and trying to sell our farm...and the market is completely FAILING as far as I'm concerned...) but I am definitely interested. I think if I can't go I may meet you in certain places, though I'm pretty sure my mom and I would love to do route 66 and I'm already on the east coast. If we were to start from one coast and make our way to the other we would definitely meet many goals. In regards to transportation/housing, I think camping is a wonderful idea for most of us. However, if my mom were to go, for instance, I know she would want to stay in a hotel. There are many hotels along that route that aren't too expensive, but I understand that campsites would be cheaper. Maybe we should decide individually, and look ahead to see if there are campsites close to hotels. I think we need to get a sponsor, or find some way to get part of our gas money paid for, because I know that I couldn't not afford it right now! I think if the guys suggest sponsors, or if they decide to come along (!) that could potentially take care of it. I love this idea and the fact that is gotten so far off the ground! I am so willing to chip in my share and come along if we can get a little more support from other sources...but meanwhile, keep it coming!

ok. well if money is a problem and we cant get this thing pulled together in time for summer 2009 why dont we do it in 2010? i mean, that would give us more time to get things together, also most of us will be old enough to go by then. the summer of 2009 is only a few month away, well it seems closer than it really is i guess. but thats just an option so there isnt too much pressure on everyone to get everything done so quickly.

YES YES. I say we rip this up! Let's get like a couple of goals that alot of people have and go after them. Myself and the other TBL guys will help if we can and more importantly take part and film it. Who's down!?
