The Buried Life

What Do You Want To Do Before You Die?

Hello all! I was just noticing that a lot of people have similar goals. I was thinking that we could get something organized together, like a road trip next summer or a group trip somewhere. We should probably plan WAY ahead, though. If anyone has any input, lets all talk about it here! We could even get the guys to help us out, but I think so much can happen if we all work on getting things done together!
Happy summer!

Showers? Why do you need to shower? Aren't we all hippies here? Just kidding. Keep the suggestions coming. We can keep working on the loose ends until everything's finalized. I'm very flexible. I keep forgetting not everyone's as established as I am. I understand the credit cards, the parents and bringing work with you. I'm just used to California-style road trips. Set some hardcore rules, deviate only when you really need to and have fun all the way through.

Wow these are all fantastic ideas! I totally am ready to rally the troops! The boys would have to come with though, because you four know what you're doing (well...for the most part hehe ;D )
My mom and I have been planning to drive route 66 for the last two years! Its a good idea, but after reading all the books and things, I have heard it is better to start in Chicago and work our way down to California. Also, I would agree to not carrying that much cash, Debit cards and ATMS seem like a good plan to me. I think we should agree on how many people would do this so we can see if we can rent an RV or something for everyone, or maybe two if that would be better. I think for us younger-ish girls we need our own just so our parents wouldn't flip out. I was also thinking that since a lot of people have an entry on the list like "travel across the whole US" maybe we should start in New York so we can officially go from coast to coast.
Keep all these ideas coming! I love how exciting this is!

i agree with the whole rv thing for girls. lol. we all know how parents get. and it just depends on how many people are committing to this on how many rv's we should rent. i know mine are going to be iffy on the whole thing, but once again, im probably not going to be able to do the whole thing. imight have to fly in or drive to wherever you guys are at the time.

Is there anyway it could start up in Maine? I've always wanted to go to Maine for a lobster dinner.

Plus if I get to come I can check a few more states off my list!

You guys are awesome, let us know if we can help you in any way. By the looks of it, you've done the hardest part: the beginning.

maybe help us figure out some pricing? like how and where to get the R.V. rentals? you guys already have one for you, right? so you might know what a good deal is when you see one.

We've rented from Cruise America before, we've also purchased a cheap RV and sold it. Renting is going to be your best bet, or borrowing if you can swing it. Wherever you end up renting, ask to speak with the manager, tell them what you're doing and how you're helping other people, get them excited about your mission and 99% of the time they'll cut you a deal. This goes for anything you guys are doing, you'd be surprised who offers to help.

The worst they can say is no.

Good luck you guys. If you have trouble getting responses, email ben@theburiedlife.com.

Big Ups!

I would LOVE to do something like this! The only problem is, I'd never be allowed by my parents to go off caravanning with a bunch of (in their eyes) strangers because some group on the internet told me to. Age sucks, sometimes. But I'm going to stay posted, and maybe get one of them to come with me!

All right, folks. What do we need right now? Who really wants to do this? Who needs help in asking his or her parents for permission? What do you guys think we should ask the four boys to help us with? Who else do you feel like inviting? Who wants to be in charge of what? What obstacles are we facing at this moment? How do we get over them? Do we want to start exchanging vital information here? We're all strangers still to each other, so I think we need to work on getting comfortable with one another really soon.
