The Buried Life

What Do You Want To Do Before You Die?

tania

when we say that we want to change some people´s lives.. do we really mean it?..

The last few days I´ve been looking all these pages from this web, and i found some similarities..like we all want to do sth to change someone´s life..
but i think that we can´t have that as a goal..why? because we can´t have that waiting to happen..
i think that we can´t think like,"ok i want to do somethin to someone blabala.ok..i hope some day i´ll be able to buy a house for someone.."that is no the idea.. i think that if we all do things, i mean little things to change people´s lives..that can make a difference day by day..
for example, i can´t buy a house to a homless guy.. but what i can do maybe is to help a blid guy to cross the street.. sadly i don´t see that very often in my city...
My point is, that we all want to change someone´s life, but we cannot stop there..we should do the little things.. and make someone´s day
don´t only stay whit the goal and wait to something to happen..
DON´T TRY TO DO THE BIG THINGS..TRY TO DO THE SMALL THINGS.. those things show you how the person truly is..

Yes, I agree. Changing someone elses life and out own little by little does result in a big change. This site is based on four guys setting out to do what they wanted to do before they died and they made it a point to help someone else to the same. We can help change other peoples lives....it can be a smile or 100 bucks...or a house. I think people just want to help as much as they can.

I agree and disagree! haha....
I agree completely that though someone has bigger goals, the little things go a very long way every single day and shouldn't be wasted. (And when I read the part about helping a blind guy cross, I remember that in middle and high school I used to always cross a blind guy around the same time as I was going home. So I started helping him after I saw him struggling one day! hm... wonder what happened to him.)
But, I disagree that we shouldn't have bigger (and realistic goals). One of mine is to buy a nice home for my parents. I think If I can do this at any given time of my life I will definately go for it. I am not just going to sit idly by as if the money for it were to drop in my lap by fate hahahah... I know that it takes planning, just as much as I know that giving away money and things aimlessly isn't helping anyone.
But I'm glad you see things with such a focus and objectiveness.... we do tend to think of things in a glamorous kind of way sometimes when we get in the zone of thinking what we might want to do before we die: everyone wants to try to be some kind of hero! ahaha!

-Thanks for the post!;-)

Smile Virus
By Russel H. Conwell

Smiling is infectious, you catch it like the flu.
When someone smiled at me today, I started smiling, too.

I passed around the corner and someone saw my grin
when he smiled, I realized I'd passed it on to him!

I thought about that smile and then realized its worth,
a single smile, just like mine, could travel round the earth.

So, if you feel a smile begin, don't leave it undetected,
let's start an epidemic quick, and get the world infected!

Always remember! Sometimes the little things *are* the big things. SO SMILE!!!!! :-)

My point of view about helping/changing someone's life is like this:

If you see a poor person, hungry in front of a river, don't give him a fish... teach him how to fish.

I always remember a little girl who came up to me at a bakery in Rio brasil ,she asked for money lucky my wife speaks the local toung and told me what the girl asked and I thought what I would have bought at this age( about 6 years old) with the money, cakes sweets ect. No this little girl smiled thank me and bought bread and canned fish to take home. This made me feel sad for this little girl that she was being an adult so young. But I am happy I made a little girl smile if only for a moment (a smile what a return for my money)..I quickly realised that I could not help every hungry person in brasil the problem is so large.I think one of my goals in life is just to be a good person to otheres. But I must say also being good to yourself is not a bad thing , I drink too much at times and always regreat it. So I would say help otheres and yourself.(NOTE TO SELF CUT OUT DRINKING). Its not a goal it is just something that happens,We always want to help each othere,we are human.
